Planica, Giant Ski-Jump

The world biggest ski-jump is hosting championships and renown for regularly setting new records. In the corner of the three countries Slovenia, ha seen the first jump over 100 m - Sepp Bradl made it to 101,5 m on the 15th of May in 1936. Meanwhile ski-jumpers reach twice this length, the ski-jump was reerected in 1972 and modernized in 1994, allowing jumps of over 200 m.
So first one to pass this mark was Toni Nieminen. The longest distance ever jumped, has also talken place on the Velikanka Ski-Jump. On 21st of March in 2003, the Finn Veli-Matti Lindström made it to fantastic 323,5 m but had to grasp snow when landing, so is wasn’t counted as a new world record. At the end of 2003 the Velikanka Ski-Jump was slightly modified for the World Championships.
