Nowadays Lipica is an important centre of tourism which offers riding courses, visits of trainings, shows and significant international riding events. You might even enjoy the panoramic view of the Karst from an elevated saddle or from the seat of a carriage.
Ljutomer is another significant place of rinding for Slovenia; it has a long tradition of trotting. The hippodrome of Ljutomer hosts four impotant trotting races each year. American trotting horses can be found at the breeding centre of Brdo – every year the best horses and jockeys of Slovenia battle on the sandy course with its natural tribunes. Looking for riding lessons, riding in the arena and in the terrain, you’d check the club at Struga closeby the only water castle of Slovenia, Castle Otosec, the riding club of Prestranek with the stud guarded by the castle walls or at Pristiva Lepena, where riders are overwhelmed by the natural beauties of Triglav National Park. On top of that, there are horse ranches and touristic farmyards offering beginner and advanced courses of riding, cross country riding, carriage riding, horse care etc. In most cases, there are ponies for the kids at hand.
