Speaking of sports and recreation, Slovenia is an extremely diversified country. There are unnumbered occasions for your activity holiday, in all regions and all seasons. Most tempting in the wintertime are the ski regions in the north, in the summertime, enjoy the waters and the sky above the Adriatic and the tree tops, in spring and autumn, nature offers colourful trails for hiking and biking.

Friends of aviation appreciate the friendly winds of Slovenia. Fans of water sports adore the variety of lakes, rivers and the sea. Diving is generally permitted in all lakes and rivers, with only exeption of the spawning grounds near Lake Bohinj, sea lanes and harbours. The diving permission is given by the police. Even diving in the Karst caves is possible, but only on professionally guided tours.

Due to its location and the diversified landscape Slovenia is one of the most favoured countries for hot-air balloon rides too - Murska Sobota and Ptuj were hosting the hot-air balloon championships in 1994. A lot of clubs for para gliding and delta flying, the hot-air balloon association and aviation centres ensure wonderful experiences of the skies. The majority of Slovenian resorts and baths have tennis courts at disposal, some to be playable even in winter. Tennis equipment and lessons are at lease in some places.
